DROPS OF LOVE -  IN HUNGARY

We participated the second meeting called Drops of Love in the third week of May (18-24 May) The topic of the meeting was 'love' as can be understood from the name . Some materials ,poems, essays about 'kinds of love' were displayed in the main hall of school.

The meeting lasted for 7 days in Hungary. We spent our first day on the way to Hungary –Bicskei. When we arrived in Bicskei ,the host families were there to take our kids home.

The next day the teachers and students from  partner countries got together at school . The meeting started with an opening ceremony. After that the teacher had meeting while the students were taking part in different activities and observing  the lessons. In the afternoon the participants created  'a love blanket' with quotations and drawings.

On the second day we had a trip to Budapeşt,the capital city.There were lots of tourist atractionts to see.We tried to discover as many places as we can  in a day.We started with Parliment Building and went on with Gellert Hill/Citadella,Royal Castle District,Oprea House. It was also nice to walk over the River Danube.

On the third day we led for Debrecen to the other partner school in Hungary. On the way to Debrecen we visited an old city ,Eger, known in  our history as Eğri. It was very exciting to step on the land that our ancestors walked once. You could feel the soul of Turks in every corner of the city,the minaret,Eğri Castle,Ottomans swords,weapons in the museum,paintings.We felt proud when Hungarian teacher told that the city  had its most brilliant time in Ottoman period .

On the fourth day we visited the second school which is a school of art. The students performed ballets,folk dance,piano recital in the opening ceremony. The teachers were really very hospitable.Later we exhibited the materials about love in the main hall of the school. After lunch we visited an interesting etnography museum called Deri Museum.

On the fifth day we came together in the school. Teachers had  a final meeting and students joined their friends in the lessons. In the afternoon students and teachers took part in diffirent activities such as making enamel  medals,bracelet,creating the mosaic of Drops of Love ,painting,learning some steps of Hungarian folk dance. Everybody had great fun in sharing culture and traditions during the events. In the evening we had a farewell party .We made a wish of coming together again.
