Our school is located in Gölbaşı which is a district of Ankara – the capital city of Turkiye. Gölbaşı is a pleasant settlement area with the Lake Mogan and the Lake Eymir and Beynam Forest which is open to visitors and a convenient place for trekking and walking. Our town is also famous for “love flower” (Centaurea tchihatcheffii) which is enlisted as an endemic flower in Bern Convention. Ankara is in the middle of Turkiye and not far from touristic and historical areas like Cappadocia.
Our school is a foreign language based public high school. It has over 850 students aged 14-17 and 70 teachers. Students learn English and German as foreign languages. Our students come from different social and economical level groups. Our area has got immigrants coming from the rural areas which surround Golbası and underdeveloped cities and towns of Middle Anatolia. We see this diversity as different cultures in one school. We have involved in national and international projects to improve the quality of education and social and cultural interaction of the students. We participated in a Comenius project called "DROPS" in 2013. Besides that, our teachers and students participate in TUBİTAK Science fair which is held every year. We disseminate our projects by an exhibition that other high schools´ students and inhabitants of our town visit. and School’s teams had the opportunity to participate many sport contests resulted in awards on the fields of volleyball, basketball, handball and table tennis.
